When I just got home after the chemotherapy I just felt like I had the flu a bit, seemed like "no big deal so far". Good news is the treatment went well and I did not react badly to any of the drugs, at least not yet. I was able to walk to the car afterwards, about .5 mile with no problems.
Now the premeds are fading the wheels are coming off a bit more and things are a bit wobbly, specially my tummy. Eassic tea in combination with "normal" drugs are keeping my stomach from jumping too far up into my throat, just, and I am forcing myself to eat little bits and drink water glass by glass. Just begining to realise that getting out of the hospital feeling OK is just the start, better than the opposite, but not yet the main battle.
I will keep you all posted tomorrow full reaction should be clearer by then, but overall so far so good.
Cheers
Gerry

Hi Dot,
Your tips were really helpful today I knew what to expect and had a really nice nurse. She messed up the first line in and tried to fix it but I knew enough to say "hey lets just go for the other side" she was relieved and got a good second line so seems like no tissue damage so far.
You were also spot on about the sickness meds, as soon as the IV stuff wore off my tummy went nuts but I got straight into the take home stuff and stabilised it after an hour or so. So thanks for all the information it really helped.
I was surprised to find the parmacist was not well informed on vitamin A, B E mix from Bristol and clueless about Q10 protection for adrimycin induced heart damage. Did not even know about Eassic tea at all. I gave her a lot of references and she is going to look into it and come back to me with their opinion. Stayed clear of supplements day -1 today and tomorrow so as not to take the necessary toxicity down. Will go into it again end of tomorrow unless I get a positive objection from the pharmacist.
Silvias relaxation therapy really got me well "in the zone" I was relaxed and positive with the process so please pass on my thanks to her for the great background on complementary support strategies.
So far so good, I think the steriods have me a bit hyper - or maybe that just me !!

Dear Philip and Kevin
Thanks for the nice comments, in reality there is no way but this highway, its not a matter of being brave, honestly I hide under the duvet and groan just as much as any of you would. Then you just realise there is no other game in town just now, so you get on with it just as hundreds and thousands of people do every day.
However its nice to hear from all of you, keep it up please as this webpage is a way for me to talk it out - I will probably use up all my nice comments quota for the next 20 years as a result !
What is Debbie going to do with the pink wig to celebrate at then end of all this ...? That could be one of my list of good things to look forward to ! But only if Norah agrees as lent will be well over by then (and we might have a kitchen to host the party)
Cheers
