Just a quick blog to say that the stem cells are in the bag, the reddish one at the top of the machine, and that hurdle is cleared (and now lab confirmed) - go bone marrow !! The minimum count needed was 15 and I clocked in this morning at 83.
Totally delighted over here, and going to celebrate,- this was a critical one because, although the chance of it not working were low, the consequence was that would be pretty much the end of the line - so vast relief and generally jumping around like a puppy over here!
That is one of the three compound probabilities set back to 100 percent
Cheers

Fantastic news Gerry - had total confidence that your bone marrow would play ball and overachieve but nice to have it confirmed!

Hello again Gerry -
Looking at the photo, I'm impressed with your strength training excercise regime....
Quite a workout! (for the mind - "Hardcover: 1328 pages" .... as well as the body - "Shipping Weight: 3.67 pounds").

Gerry,
Great news! Your Core Tech and EMOT friends are cheering up a storm.

Delighted to hear that it was the Jolly Harvester who came a-calling and not the Grim Reaper!
And what is that Robert Fisk book doing on your bed table? You look like one of these politicians whose spin doctors choose the books to be carefully placed in portraits to make them look intellectual. If you're actually reading it, I presume it's to fuel another political stream of consciousness ramble when you can't sleep. Though by the look of it, you've only read the foreward and it's probably got the Beano tucked inside it. Buy yourself some PG Wodehouse and chill out.
Hello Gerry, great news - all the best from your colleagues and friends in Bavaria. Our thoughts are with you

Thanks for all the good wished guys this was one of our three big milestones, the next two are the results of the scans next week and finally the stem cell chemo/implantation itself.
I was reading the robert fisk book and, as kenny points out had only read the introduction. However thougths of product placement are greatly exaggarated. I am now on chapter four, and finished the first disk of Lost, thanks to being stuck in hospital since this morning with a high temperature (89.1c), anything over 88 (my normal is 86.4) and its like a go to jail card in monopoly, I do not pass go, straight to hospital etc. Hopefully they will let me out by tea time once all the tests are done. So celebrations were muted but we are still well pleased.
Cheers
Gerry
